Illinois Governor Pritzker recently granted our client clemency, in the form of a pardon with the authorization to expunge, for his felony forgery and felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle convictions.

Since these convictions, almost 25 years ago, our client has married, become a father, gone to college and graduate school, and become a valued employee.

Thank you to the Illinois Prisoner Review Board, as well as to Governor Pritzker and his staff, for granting our client's petition for clemency.

Tamara is honored to have been interviewed by the Vice/Broadly team, with host Amanda Knox, about her work following her career in television. For over a decade, Tamara Holder worked as a civil rights, clemency, pardon, and criminal defense attorney, based in Chicago, Illinois.

Now, armed with her own personal experience, she has expanded her practice to help people abused in the workplace and beyond, whether it is sexual harassment at work or sexual abuse at the hands of a doctor.

Basically, she helps good people who made a mistake in the past, by asking the state's governor for forgiveness through the clemency/pardon process. And, she stands up to abusive people who have hurt someone, in the workplace or beyond.

This pardon was filed by The Law Firm of Tamara N. Holder, LLC, in 2010.  Our client, a decorated member of the military, was seeking clemency for a conviction of a misdemeanor he committed, in Kane County, when he was a teenager. He never went to prison for this offense and did not know, at the time, that this conviction would follow him forever, unless he received a pardon.
